Our Energy is One of The Most Valuable Assets

You make coffee. You answer messages. You go to work. You take care of the people who need you. You exercise because you know you should. You try to eat well. You keep going.
From the outside, everything looks fine.
But somewhere between the meetings, responsibilities, deadlines and endless mental lists, you realise something:
You don't have the energy you used to have.
And perhaps the strangest part is that you cannot explain why.
You are doing so many things "right".
So why do you still feel drained?
Maybe You Don't Need More Discipline
When our energy drops, our first instinct is often to add something.
Sleep more. Exercise more. Eat better. Take supplements. Meditate. Become more organised. Develop a better morning routine.
In other words: try harder.
But what if more discipline isn't what you need?
What if the more important question is not "What else should I be doing?" but:
"Where is my energy actually going?"
Because energy rarely disappears in one dramatic moment.
It can disappear quietly.
A little through stress.
A little through constantly being available.
A little through overthinking.
A little through carrying responsibility for everyone around us.
A little through ignoring what our body has been trying to tell us.
Until one day, exhaustion starts to feel normal.
And that may be one of the greatest dangers of all.
We can become so accustomed to functioning with low energy that we forget what it feels like to truly feel good.
Your Energy Influences More Than Your Body
Energy isn't only about whether you can make it through the afternoon without another coffee.
It influences how you think.
How patient you are.
How you communicate.
How much courage you have to make a change.
And even the decisions you make about your work, relationships and future.
When we are depleted, the question is therefore bigger than:
"How can I stop feeling tired?"
Perhaps we should be asking:
"What kind of life am I building from this level of energy?"
And even more importantly:
"What am I building right now that I will be living in for the next ten years?"
That question is at the heart of my new conversation with Thien Wong, Women's Energy and Strength Coach for high-achieving women over 35, creator of the Next Decade Body System, and author of Next Decade Body.
Together, we explore why even capable and disciplined people can become depleted, where our energy may be disappearing without us noticing, how low energy affects our decisions, why pushing harder is not always the answer — and what we can start doing today to build a stronger, more energetic body for the decade ahead.
Because perhaps the goal shouldn't simply be to get through another busy day.
Perhaps the goal is to build enough energy to truly live it.
